Police investigating theft of football equipment

Morris police are investigating a theft of football equipment from a Morris school.

According to a department news release, at about 9 a.m. Thursday, an officer responded to the practice football field behind Shabbona Middle School, on the 700 block of School Street, where football pads were reported as stolen. The estimated value of the equipment was below $300.

Police are also investigating an earlier incident of criminal damage to school equipment that was reported the week before. According to the release, items were spray painted and damaged in that incident.
