Q&A: Minooka runner Alex Pierce
MINOOKA — For years now, the Minooka boys and girls cross country teams have been putting the kinds of seasons together that leave next year's class wanting more. Under the guidance of Kevin Gummerson, the Indians have grown into a consistent state power at the Class 3A level and have virtually booked next year's bus to the IHSA state meet.
Last year the local boys finished 13th in the championship run at Detweiller Park in Peoria, but all that has done is make this year's Minooka harriers even more hungry to get a top-10 team finish.
With the new cross country season right around the corner, and with Minooka senior runner Alex Pierce in attendance at the Indian Pride Track Meet on Tuesday, the Morris Daily Herald asked Pierece to be this week's question and answer subject and he obliged.
