Saturday Sentinel: Score not kept over summer but fall results is all that matters

So, I've been covering the local football teams as the summer winds down ,as you probably already know. There is no real exact science to covering either the 7-on-7 tournaments or the linemen challenge up in Bolingbrook. Especially since score is not kept, and if it is, results aren't announced for 10 days or so like the linemen challenge.

This was the first year I have covered the linemen challenge and thought it was pretty interesting. The gist of it is that each team has its linemen and linebackers participate in lifting and agility-type drills against other teams. Both Morris and Minooka was there this year and I was impressed with each to some degree.

When it all comes said and done, Morris coach Alan Thorson said that, especially in the fall, line play is important.

What is your stance on a proposed 1 percent sales tax to fund local school building projects?

I'm in favor of anything that will help improve school finances
I will support it if it helps to lower my property taxes
I oppose it because I don't believe it will impact property taxes and I will just pay twice
I'm against any additional taxes
I have not heard enough yet to form an opinion
