Anderson wins Tattersall Memorial
Two weeks ago, Joliet’s Jimmy Anderson spent the final laps of the Carter/Anderson Classic in the Morris Hospital. He was being evaluated after a violent crash sent him in the wall and Tom Schnabel tumbling out of the track.
Saturday night, Anderson was able to complete the D’Arcy GMC STARS, Bob Tattersall Classic and pick up win No. 2 on the season.
Starting from the pole position, Anderson jumped out to an early and comfortable lead over last-week’s winner Billy Hulbert. A lap 17 spin from Aaron Andruskevitch, washed away Anderson’s lead and bunched up the field. On the restart, Anderson once again pulled away but fast qualifier Brad Greenup was on a charge. Starting from the last spot in the invert all the way in eighth place, Greenup quickly picked up spots and on lap 21 moved into second. His next objective was to catch the leader.
