Copper wire, valued at $3,000, stolen from cell towers

Kendall County deputies are investigating reports of copper theft from two cell phone towers in Lisbon Township.

According to Dep. Craig French of the Kendall County Sheriff's Office, the thefts were reported at about 8:40 a.m. Monday in the area of 8700 block of Chicago Road in Newark.

French said copper wire valued at about $3,000 was stolen from the two cell phone towers, which belong to AT&T and Verizon. No suspects have been identified.
