Notre Dame suspends Rees, Calabrese for opener
(MCT) — Tommy Rees and Carlo Calabrese won't have to worry about an updated passport. They're not traveling with their Notre Dame teammates to Dublin.
Both Rees and Calabrese are suspended for the overseas season opener against Navy, the school announced Tuesday, as a result of their arrests as police broke up an off-campus party in early May.
And, yes, from the strictly football perspective, this means Notre Dame will have a new starting quarterback -- for at least one weekend.
