Epstein: 'Dempster shouldn't be criticized'
CHICAGO (MCT) — Ryan Dempster shouldn’t be criticized for the botched trade with Atlanta or his insistence on going to the Dodgers, Theo Epstein said Wednesday.
“It’s not fair for anyone to criticize Ryan unless they’ve been in that spot,” he said.
But Epstein conceded the moves prevented the Cubs from getting the most value in return for Dempster, who eventually went to Texas for two Class-A prospects.
