ComEd officials share tips on how to save on energy bills

Local senior citizens received a free lunch and tips on how to save on their energy bills from ComEd during a luncheon Wednesday at Saratoga Tower.

About 75 senior citizens from all over Grundy County attended the event sponsored by ComEd, Community Nutrition Network, Senior Services Association and the Grundy County Housing Authority.

"Last year, legislation was passed that allows ComEd to supply customer assistant programs," Cynthia Thomas, manger of customer assistance programs for ComEd, said to the group. "That is $10 million a year on programs, so it's important to make sure all the folks who are eligible for them know about them."
