Hamilton's departure renews old debate

Severson again calls for team approach to administrator's role

Grundy County Board Chairman Ron Severson suggests leaving the county administrator position empty until after the election, but a special meeting of the Personnel Committee has been called for Friday for discussion.

Shawn Hamilton resigned as Grundy County administrator Tuesday to take a job with the city of Park Ridge, where he will make double the salary he had with the county.

As Severson has said for the last year, he believes the county does not need a full-time administrator. Until the election, Severson suggests having the county board members, Land Use Director Heidi Miller, Board Secretary Sandy Pommier and Technology Director John Watters handle the duties,  with the assistance of auditor Tawnya Mack for the budget.
