Dinner from a Diva

Day’s book to be featured at signing party

JOLIET — Helen Day is more than excited about the release of her first book, “Cook Like a Greek Diva: A Greek Family Cookbook.” The American-Greek housewife is celebrating this momentous occasion with a book release and signing party this Sunday, Aug. 5, at 176 Banquet Hall, 1100 Frontage Rd. in Joliet, from 2 p.m. to 7 p.m.

“It feels like I am in a dream, I can’t wait to have people try our family dishes,” said Day. “Everyone asks my mom and I for recipes and now they will have a collection of them.”

What is your stance on a proposed 1 percent sales tax to fund local school building projects?

I'm in favor of anything that will help improve school finances
I will support it if it helps to lower my property taxes
I oppose it because I don't believe it will impact property taxes and I will just pay twice
I'm against any additional taxes
I have not heard enough yet to form an opinion
