OTHER VOICES: Quinn needs to be more transparent about his prison closing plans
The following editorial appeared in the (Bloomington) Pantagraph on Wednesday, Aug. 1:
(MCT) — Gov. Pat Quinn’s administration apparently doesn’t want taxpayers to know the consequences of his plan to close some Illinois prisons.
Officials with the Department of Corrections deny that’s the case, but the evidence points another way.
Last week, DOC ordered a search of employees at 10 prisons, noting the searches should take place as employees left the prisons.
