Morris annexes portion of Morris Country Club
Ordinances pass, although dissenting alderman believes sales tax rebate is 'excessive'
The Morris City Council moved forward Monday with action to annex a portion of the Morris County Club into the city.
The multiple ordinances for the club were mostly approved 7-1, with Alderman Don Hansen voting no. For the execution of the annexation agreement, Mayor Richard Kopczick had to vote as well, according to the law. It was approved 8-1, with Hansen voting against it.
"I would like the deal better if it annexed in the parking lot. And the sales tax rebate is excessive," Alderman Don Hansen said.
