Olympics are good for one column every couple of years

So, what has been your favorite sport to watch during the London Summer Olympics this year?

For you traditionalists out there who have been following the games all your life, my guess is that you watch the games for the track and field events, swimming or gymnastics. After all, those are the oldest and longest running games in Olympic history dating back to 1896. For the record, both cycling and fencing have also been around continuously since 1896 but I wouldn't exactly call those spectator sports.

Since the first games promoted and tallied the scores of nine sports, the Olympics have grown to as many as 28 games in recent years and 26 this year in London. Both golf and rugby have been added for 2016 in Rio de Janeiro to go back to that 28-sport plateau that had been the standard since 2000 before this year.
