Bears light on stars in 31-3 loss to Broncos

CHICAGO (MCT) — The Chicago Bears decided to keep their new offense mostly under wraps until the second week of the exhibition schedule.

Quarterback Jay Cutler and running back Matt Forte were held out of Thursday’s opener at Soldier Field against the Denver Broncos, perhaps to blame for a lethargic showing. Storms interrupted pregame warm-ups, but the playing surface remained in solid shape and the Broncos elected to use prized offseason addition Peyton Manning, who looked like his old self on an opening drive that ended just short of the Bears goal line on a tipped interception.

What is your stance on a proposed 1 percent sales tax to fund local school building projects?

I'm in favor of anything that will help improve school finances
I will support it if it helps to lower my property taxes
I oppose it because I don't believe it will impact property taxes and I will just pay twice
I'm against any additional taxes
I have not heard enough yet to form an opinion
