Chatten, Redskins are all set
Many athletes spend their final high school seasons selecting a college. Even after a decision is reached, few know what their roles at the next level will be.
Katie Chatten has a rare level of certainty entering her final girls volleyball season with the Morris Redskins. In February, she verbally committed to Upper Iowa University, where she will receive a full scholarship — half for athletics and half for academics. Chatten has also been informed that she will be the starting setter at UIU as a freshman.
An UIU athletic spokesperson declined to comment on Chatten, citing NCAA bylaws pertaining to athletes who have not yet signed National Letters of Intent.
