Youth football both nationally and locally provides great headlines
So, I just read a story from a number of sources that down in Texas there is a 300-pound seventh grader who has been banned from playing youth football. Elijah Earnheart is 6-0 tall, so the weight thing is not all that ridiculous. The fact that a 12-year old kid is not allowed to play football for almost any reason seems un-American.
According to Texas rules, no kid weighing more than 135 pounds can play at the "Pee Wee" level.
By one source, Mesquite Pee Wee Football Association President Ronnie Henderson is upholding the decision mentioning that more players than Earnhardt exceeded the league's weight limit.
