MINOOKA — If you can't beat them, join them.

Edwardsville has eliminated Minooka from two consecutive Class 4A girls volleyball postseasons. Not coincidentally, the Indians added a tournament at Edwardsville to their schedule this season.

The addition is part of a broader plan for the Indians to build on the success they have enjoyed under third-year coach Chris Hoelscher. They are 52-12-1 since Hoelscher took over, and winners of consecutive regional and Southwest Prairie Conference championships, but know another level must be reached for a deeper postseason run.
