Medicare comes front and center in campaign
CHARLOTTE, N.C. (MCT) — President Barack Obama and Mitt Romney sparred over the future of Medicare on Wednesday in a battle to shape public opinion on the proposal by Paul Ryan, Romney’s running mate, to revamp the popular health care program for the elderly and the disabled.
Both sides sought to gain an edge with seniors in Florida and other swing states with large populations of elderly — and perhaps with some younger Americans looking ahead to their own retirement.
