Specialists to lead poultry presentation
Aug. 29 workshop for seasoned and beginner managers
Are you interested in raising chickens? More people are making an effort to eat food that’s raised locally. Raising chickens is both easy and “green.” Chickens are one of the easiest, most forgiving, creatures for a small farm to manage.
Dr. Ken Koelkebeck and Pam Utterback, specialists from the University of Illinois, will share knowledge in the basics of raising poultry during a presentation to be held from 9 a.m. to noon Wednesday, Aug. 29, 2012, at University of Illinois Extension, Grundy County, 4004 N. Division (Farm Bureau Building), Morris. This workshop will be beneficial for both the “seasoned” and new chicken managers.
