Taking charge

The Morris VFW Men’s Auxiliary held elections recently for Board of Director positions for the 2012-13 year.

The board members are: Jim Maskel, treasurer; Jim Black Jr., vice president; Dave Smith, president; Jim Chronister, chaplain; Shawn Black, trustee; Brain Newell, senior vice president; and Rob Leasure, trustee; Ryan Newell, secretary and Chuck Urbanek, trustee

The Men’s Auxiliary is established under the John Martin Steele Post 6049 in Morris, Ill., and conducts voluntary community service, supports the VFW and provides member fellowship.

Anyone interested in becoming a member of the Men’s Auxiliary can join the group at its monthly general membership meetings, which are held at 7 p.m. on the third Mondays at the Post.

Eligibility for membership is limited to any son, grandson, brother, father, grandfather, husband or widower of any living or deceased person who is ‘eligible’ for VFW membership, and is at least 16 years of age.
