Mrs. Melissa (Marr) Ciota, 75, passed away peacefully Saturday, Aug. 11, 2012, at her residence.

Funeral services will be Saturday, Aug. 25, at First Presbyterian Church, 200 E. Jackson Street, Morris, where visitation will take place from 10 a.m. until the services begin at the church at 2 p.m. Interment will follow at Evergreen Cemetery.

The daughter of George and Audrey Marr of Pleasant Plains, Ill., Melissa was born Oct. 23, 1936. She grew up on the family farm near Springfield, Ill., and attended local schools, graduating from New Berlin High School in 1954. She then attended Illinois State University, where she was an honorary member of Sigma Tau Delta, and earned a bachelor of science degree. She also met her husband, Robert, there.
