COAL CITY — Mrs. Joan Delores Greene, 81, of Coal City, passed away Thursday morning, Aug. 23, 2012, at her home.

Born Jan. 24, 1931, in Joliet, Ill., Joan was a daughter of the late John Anthony and Frances (McEvoy) Jachino. She was raised and educated in Coal City, graduated from Coal City High School and earned her bachelor's degree in music education from the University of Illinois.

Joan was a member of Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary Roman Catholic Church in Coal City, and will be remembered for her gift of music, which she passed onto many students who she taught over the years.
