Will summer seasoning pay off for Coalers?

COAL CITY — The Morris-based MVP 60450 volleyball club featured several players over the summer who will make an impact playing in Coal City's 60416 zip code this fall.

Kassie Aldridge, Emily Halliday, Morgan Leopold, Claire Smith, Britta Spelde and Amber Wilder were all members of the Full House U16 team at MVP 60450. Nicole Borgetti was on the club's Lucky Aces U15 team. All seven girls are now varsity players at Coal City High School.

On Mondays, the Lady Coalers competed in a summer league at Hidden Cove Sportsplex in Bourbonnais, and they also held regular open gyms. Thus, they entered practice earlier this month with a strong sense of familiarity with one another.
