Porth settling in as Redskins leader

Andrew Porth may be new to the role as head coach of the Morris co-op swimming and diving team, but he is certainly no stranger to the program.

Porth served as an assistant under longtime head coach Joanne Engle before switching roles with her prior to the 2012-13 school year. Tuesday's girls opener marked the first time since 1991 that the Redskins' head coach was someone other than Engle.

Several practices into their preparation for the season, veteran members of the program said it had essentially been business as usual.

What is your stance on a proposed 1 percent sales tax to fund local school building projects?

I'm in favor of anything that will help improve school finances
I will support it if it helps to lower my property taxes
I oppose it because I don't believe it will impact property taxes and I will just pay twice
I'm against any additional taxes
I have not heard enough yet to form an opinion
