Boyfriend allegedly assaults woman, threatens her with sword

DECATUR (MCT) — Police arrested a 40-year-old Decatur man wanted on two Macon County warrants Monday morning after he allegedly battered, choked and threatened his girlfriend with a sword.

The victim told police that about 10:30 p.m. Sunday, the suspect, who she said she’s been in a relationship with on and off for a number of years, entered her residence in the 2300 block of East Main Street and allegedly slammed her against the wall while placing both of his hands around her neck. She said he also began to squeeze her neck, making it difficult to breathe.
