Providence pops Minooka

NEW LENOX —  In a Week 2 non-conference showdown in New Lenox on Friday, the Providence Celtics were able to use two fourth-quarter touchdowns to defeat the Minooka Indians 28-10.

Providence came into the game coming off a big 40-34 win over Joliet Catholic the week before, but main running back Brandon Price was injured for the Celtics this week, leaving a hole at the position.

That hole was filled by Chad Weaver, who rushed for over 100 yards, Friday night. He also accounted for the first touchdown of the game, a 1-yard plunge to give the Celtics an early lead.

What is your stance on a proposed 1 percent sales tax to fund local school building projects?

I'm in favor of anything that will help improve school finances
I will support it if it helps to lower my property taxes
I oppose it because I don't believe it will impact property taxes and I will just pay twice
I'm against any additional taxes
I have not heard enough yet to form an opinion
