Villages to cooperate on grant application
MINOOKA, Ill. — The villages of Minooka and Channahon will be working together to apply for a federal grant that will help them discover options for waste water treatment at the Brisbin Road interchange.
Each community will pay $2,500 to the North Central Illinois Council of Governments for assistance in preparing and applying for the grant.
Minooka has jurisdiction over the northeast section of the interchange; Channahon has the southeast quadrant. By working together on the planning grant, they will hopefully find out if it’s more feasible for each to build its own plant or develop one together, said Minooka Administrator Dan Duffy.
