So far, so good for Coal City's Shetina

COAL CITY — There is an inherent pressure naturally associated with playing the quarterback position in any offense at any level. No other position in sports requires the same kind of leadership qualities or bears the same sort of responsibility.

However, in certain situations, specifically at the high school and collegiate levels where rosters are constantly turning over, there is added pressure created when one has a lofty pair of shoes to fill. Just ask Coal City quarterback Brennen Shetina.

The junior quarterback, who threw just two passes last season at the varsity level, won the job this preseason and now faces the unenviable task of replacing former All-State signal-caller Cody Onsen, who accounted for 38 total touchdowns in 2011 for the Coalers.

What is your stance on a proposed 1 percent sales tax to fund local school building projects?

I'm in favor of anything that will help improve school finances
I will support it if it helps to lower my property taxes
I oppose it because I don't believe it will impact property taxes and I will just pay twice
I'm against any additional taxes
I have not heard enough yet to form an opinion
