Morris man arrested for sexual abuse of minor

A 72-year-old Morris man is being accused of multiple incidents of sexual abuse and sexual assault of a minor, according to Grundy County Sheriff's Department officials.

According to Sgt. Tanya Paquette of the Grundy County Sheriff's Department, department officials, on Aug. 23, initially arrested Thomas E. Harr on a charge of criminal sexual assault. He appeared in Grundy County court on Aug. 31, where he was formally charged with two counts of aggravated criminal sexual abuse and three counts of criminal sexual assault.

Paquette said Wednesday Harr's arrest took place after a minor under the age of 16, whose gender was not released because of the sensitivity of the case, reported to trusted adults that Harr had allegedly committed the abuse in several occasions over an extended period of time. Paquette said the alleged abuse was not random.
