Tice says Carimi not 100 percent

(MCT) — Chicago Bears offensive coordinator Mike Tice praised the progress of second-year tackle Gabe Carimi, but Tice also expressed concern about whether Carimi is fully recovered from last year’s season-ending knee injury.

Carimi, who suffered a subluxation of the right knee during last season’s Week 2 loss to the Saints, had multiple surgeries on the knee before returning to practice this offseason. The former first-round draft pick from Wisconsin took some reps off during training camp but looked healthy and active in three preseason games.

"He’s going to take a while to be up to full speed," Tice said after Wednesday’s practice. "I don’t believe he’s all the way back yet. The endurance in his leg is going to come with game time."
