Setting the Beat
Redskins’ drumline strikes up the spirit
There’s nothing like a good drumline to stir up the spirit at a home football game on a Friday night. The beat of the snares, quads and bass drums is visceral, pounding out the rhythm in the chest of everyone in the stands and raising the atmosphere to one of excitement and hope.
The Morris Community High School Marching Redskins’ drumline, or battery, is no different and has been steadily growing with the rest of the band the past four years, as it recovers from the effects of a feeder school that cut its band program a few years ago.
