West Nile virus still a threat
(MCT) — Summer may be drawing to an end, but the Illinois mosquito season is still flitting along at full swarm, according to state officials.
Although the percentage of mosquito samples testing positive for the West Nile virus in Cook and DuPage counties continued to dip this week, authorities with the Illinois Department of Public Health warned that there are still worrisome numbers of infected bloodsuckers on the prowl.
