Milton Pope bus involved in accident

Reports indicate as many as 39 injured

MARSEILLES — Local law enforcement and first responders were sent to an accident involving a pickup and a Milton Pope Elementary School school bus Monday morning.

According to La Salle County Sheriff's Department officials, the crash took place at about 8:15 a.m. today, Monday, Sept. 10, at N. 32nd Road and E. 25th Road in rural Marseilles.

According to initial reports, the bus flipped multiple times. Published reports have cited as many as 39 people were injured, including the driver of the bus and the driver of the pickup, but as many as 22 students were released to their parents by 11 a.m.
