Morris soccer stays hot, beats Wilmington

It's been nearly three weeks since the Morris soccer team has tasted defeat. Ever since a non-conference loss to Plainfield South 18 days ago, the Redskins have gone 3-0-1, including a big performance at the Streator Tournament this past weekend.

On Monday, that momentum carried over for the locals in a 7-0 win over visiting Wilmington in another non-conference win.

Morris came right out and started the scoring in the second minute of the match on Monday. The first goal came when Chava Villanueva came in from the left of goal and crossed a nice pass to teammate Luis Villanueva who headed one past the Wildcats' keeper.

What is your stance on a proposed 1 percent sales tax to fund local school building projects?

I'm in favor of anything that will help improve school finances
I will support it if it helps to lower my property taxes
I oppose it because I don't believe it will impact property taxes and I will just pay twice
I'm against any additional taxes
I have not heard enough yet to form an opinion
