NU's top dog leaving his mark

(MCT) — Here’s proof that Northwestern coach Pat Fitzgerald is not satisfied with his team’s 2-0 start. On Monday he mentioned that only one man on either side is playing “at a championship level,” and that’s tailback/returner Venric Mark. Then Fitzgerald repeated it, just to be clear.

Mark ranks fourth in the Big Ten in rushing yards per game (102.5), trailing quarterbacks Braxton Miller and Denard Robinson and Michigan State tailback Le’Veon Bell. Mark is at 5.4 yards per carry; Bell at 4.5.

And Mark is averaging a rather hefty 67.0 yards per punt return. His only two came at Syracuse.

What is your stance on a proposed 1 percent sales tax to fund local school building projects?

I'm in favor of anything that will help improve school finances
I will support it if it helps to lower my property taxes
I oppose it because I don't believe it will impact property taxes and I will just pay twice
I'm against any additional taxes
I have not heard enough yet to form an opinion
