Mr. James Allen Winkler, retired attorney of Foley & Lardner, loving father, grandfather and son, passed away Sunday, Sept. 9, 2012.

Survivors include his devoted wife, Elizabeth; his children, Berengaria (Peter), James Ragnar (Jennifer), Briana (Ruben), Tristan; his mother, Doris Jones Gabel of Newark, Ill.; his sisters, Janice Smith and Sharon Abrams; stepsister, Mardel Robinson; his brother, David Winkler; and four grandchildren.

He was a devoted father and adored grandfather, brother, cousin and loyal friend.
