Coal City slackens leash law for new dog park
Trustees also officially approve pet recreation area
COAL CITY — Coal City leaders, at their meeting Monday night, approved two motions to establish a dog park in the village.
Village Administrator Matt Fritz said the majority of the village’s board of trustees voted yes to both the lease for the dog park and to change a leash ordinance that would allow dogs off-leash in the confines of the park. Fritz said Trustee Dave Togliatti cast the dissenting vote in each of the two motions. Togliatti could not be contacted in time for publication.
