Forecast calls for lowest corn yield since 1995, but still eighth-largest ever
DECATUR (MCT) — Forecasts for the size of this year's corn crop continued to drop Wednesday as the effects of the drought become clearer.
The U.S. Department of Agriculture released its monthly crop production report, decreasing the expected yield from 123 bushels last month to 122.8 bushels. The prediction shows the lowest average yield per acre since 1995.
