Minooka hits win column against Central

MINOOKA -- After starting the season with three straight losses, first-year Minooka football coach Paul Forsythe made the decision to step aside and let his coaches coach.

That bit of executive delegation proved to be successful Friday night as the Indians recorded their first win of the year, knocking off previously undefeated Plainfield Central 45-14 in Southwest Prairie Conference action.

"Those first three games were the head coach getting in the way," Forsythe said of Minooka's season-opening string of losses to Morris, Providence and Oswego. "We went back to doing what we do, and our assistant coaches did a great job of putting our kids in a position to win. And, the kids did an outstanding job of executing, especially in the first half."
