Yorkville volleyball beats Morris

After going undefeated in the conference at home in 2011, the Morris Redskins volleyball team opened up conference play at home against Kaneland a week ago and swept the Lady Knights. However, a week later, with the Yorkville Lady Foxes visiting on Tuesday night, the Redskins couldn’t keep the momentum rolling at home in the Northern Illinois Big 12 East.

After coming out of the gates hot and snaring a victory in Game One 25-22, the Redskins saw their passing go by the wayside and dropped the match while losing games two and three by scores of 25-19 and 25-13, respectively. A lot of that had to do with the outstanding play of Yorkville freshman Jordan Albarran.

“She plays for the club I play for, so I knew and I expected her to play well,” Morris senior outside hitter Kendall Korte said of Albarran. “She is pretty good and – yeah – I was definitely impressed with her.”
