Nettle Creek pulls out of Shared Services

District will not longer meet regularly with other districts, forge new cooperative agreements

The Board of Education at Nettle Creek Community Consolidated School District 24C has decided not to be a part of the Morris Community Shared Services Committee any longer, unless the meeting agendas pertain to Nettle Creek specifically.

"The board is reacting to its constituents," said Dr. Donald McKinney, superintendent at Nettle Creek. "We have a small atmosphere here and they like it that way."

The Shared Services Committee was established in 2011 to explore opportunities to share services in an effort to advance student learning and improve cost effectiveness within Morris. About one year later, Nettle Creek is pulling out.
