Everyone wishes it would never happen, but you have to be prepared for a massive emergency.

Morris Hospital & Healthcare Centers was one of 15 sponsors of the "In the Midst of Chaos" Emergency Preparedness Conference held Sept. 14 in Tinley Park. The annual conference is held by the Region 7 All Hazards Emergency Preparedness Committee.

Robin Stortz, trauma coordinator for Morris Hospital, is a member of the committee. Region 7 hospitals sponsor the event, but only the six with trauma centers run the conference, said  Stortz.
