Semi driver in fatal crash identified
Another I-80 accident occurs early Friday
The Illinois State Police has released the identity of a North Carolina man who died in a crash on Interstate 80 Thursday afternoon.
At about 2:10 p.m., according to an ISP release, Norman Hargus, 41, of Lenoir, N.C., was traveling east on I-80 near the Illinois 47 overpass when a 2009 red Freightliner semi-trailer struck the rear of a 2011 silver Kia Soul, causing the semi to jacknife and block all lanes of traffic. A 2012 blue Freightliner was also involved in the crash.
