COAL CITY — Assumpt-ion of the Blessed Virgin Mary Church, 245 S Kankakee St., Coal City, is having a Rosary Renewal Parish Mission in preparation for the Year of Faith.

The renewal will begin at 7 p.m. each evening, Oct. 7 through 10.

October is the officially the Month of the Holy Rosary.

Father George Knab, a Missionary Oblate of Mary Immaculate will preach a four-day mission to promote true devotion to Mary as a powerful aid  to following Christ who leads us to God the Father.

Since 1816 the Missionary Oblates of Mary Immaculate have been dedicated to this ministry for renewal.

Life Chain seeks to bring end to abortion

The 2012 Morris Life Chain will be held from 2 to 3 p.m. on Sunday, Oct. 7, on Illinois 47 (Division St.), from  Main to Benton streets.

You may pick up signs at My Father’s House of Prayer (the old Morris Theater), located one block west of Illinois 47.

Church rummage sale planned Oct. 10 and 11

The First United Meth-odist Church of Morris will have its Fall Rummage Sale from 9 a.m. to 7 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 10, and again from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Thursday, Oct. 11.

The church is located at 118 W. Jackson St., Morris.
