Mrs. Colleen M. (McEvilly) Kapsch, 62, passed away peacefully while surrounded by her loving family at Rush University Medical Center in Chicago on Sept. 28, 2012.

She marred Raymond Kapsch Nov. 2, 1974.

A member of St. Paul Catholic Church and a graduate of Minooka High School with the Class of 1968), she retired from the city of Joliet after 37 years of service. She served as treasurer of Zonta Club of Joliet, Whiteford Baseball and AFSCME.

She had a love for all sports and was a loyal fan of the Chicago Cubs, Chicago Bears, Notre Dame and Chicago Bulls. Celebrating her Irish heritage, her involvement in politics, vacationing with family and friends, basking in the sun, and enjoying the outdoors were some of her best times.

Survivors include her loving sons James Kapsch and Thomas (Karen) Kapsch; a grandson, Mark Kapsch; her mother, Anne (Clennon) McEvilly; her seven devoted siblings, Patrick (Linda) McEvilly, Kathleen (James) Cox, Peggy McEvilly-Reed, Kevin (Meg) McEvilly, Marilou (Mike) Carr, Brian (Denise) McEvilly and Kelly (Nicholas) Galatte.

She will be deeply missed by her nieces and nephews, Neil and Darren McEvilly, Jamie and Shannon Cox, Robb and Natalie Reed, Molly and Shane McEvilly, Jonathan (Brittany) and Mallory Carr, Brianna McEvilly, Samantha and Colin Otis, Bryce and Gavin Galatte, Eric, Tracie, Becky, Rachelle and Jamie.

She was a sister-in-law to Robert Kapsch and Donna (Ray) Kunke, and is also survived by mumerous cousins, friends and her beloved dog, Quincy.

Mrs. Kapsch was preceded in death by her husband, Raymond Kapsch (1983); her father, James L. McEvilly; and nephews Ryan Reed and Andrew Carr (2012).

We grieve today for we all have lost a special lady, who touched the lives of many people with her hardworking ethic, her zest for life and witty sense of humor. Although she left us much too soon, Colleen fought a good fight with all her Irish might and has taught us all to treasure life everyday.

Funeral Services for Colleen M. Kapsch will be at 9:30 a.m. Tuesday, Oct. 2, from the Fred C. Dames Funeral Home, 3200 Black, at Essington Road, Joliet, to St. Mary's Catholic Church in Minooka for a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:30 a.m. Interment will be in Woodlawn Memorial Park.
