Shop fire extinguished at Dresden Station

Officials: Blaze never presented any danger to public

A fire in the maintenance shop at the Dresden Generating Station, Morris, Sunday, Sept. 30, is still under investigation by MABAS 15 fire investigators, as well as the Illinois State Fire Marshal's Office.

Damage estimates are still undetermined, as well.

The Coal City Fire Protection District was dispatched shortly after 6 p.m. to 6500 N. Dresden Road. Upon their arrival at the power station, smoke was observed coming from the shop with fire suppression efforts underway by Dresden Emergency response personnel.
