ST. CLAIR, Mich. — Mrs. Harriet (Matteson) Lapich, 88, of St. Clair, Mich., formerly of Morris, passed away Sept. 23, 2012, at Medilodge of St. Clair, where she had resided the past four years.

Born May 21, 1924, in Blue Earth, Minn., Harriet was the daughter of Stene and Winifred (Thorsen) Stangland. She attended Morris High School and graduated in 1942.

On May 13, 1943, she married Russell E. Matteson. They lived most of their lives in Morris and relocated to Farmington, Mich., in 1963. He preceded her in death in 1967.
