A Minooka man was cited after he allegedly left the scene of a crash involving property damage.

According to the Grundy County Sheriff’s Department crash report, the crash took place at about 1 a.m. Friday, at 8465 N. Ashley Road about one-fourth of a mile north of E. Harper Drive in Saratoga Township.

The single-vehicle crash allegedly took place when Jesse W. Williams, 22, of Minooka, was traveling north on Ashley Road in a 2008 Mazda 5 and a deer ran in front of his path from the west ditch.

Williams reportedly swerved to the right to avoid the deer and traveled into the east ditch and back onto the roadway.

Balding tires caused the car to skid sideways and overturn on its passenger side as it continued into the west ditch on its side. There, it struck the west ditch bank and turned back onto the wheels, and continued back into the northbound lane. Williams allegedly left the scene and received the citation.
