Unidentified person steals 45 pallets from Newark business

A Newark business reported the theft of more than $300 of pallets Wednesday morning.

According to a Kendall County Sheriff’s Office release, at about 9:10 a.m., deputies were called to Midland Crossing Mercantile at 115 W. Illinois 71 in Newark. There, they learned that sometime between Sept. 28 and Wednesday, Oct. 3, an unidentified person or persons took about 45 pallets without permission. They were worth about $315.

The sheriff’s department is continuing to investigate the theft. Anyone with information in the case is encouraged to call the department at (630) 553-7500.
