ROUNDUP: Minooka girls come up short of state

NORMAL — Minooka finished in 12th place with a team score of 417 at the Class AA University Girls Golf Sectional, held Monday at Illinois State University’s Weibring Golf Club.

The worst score recorded by a state-qualifying team was a 366 by Edwardsville. None of the Indians qualified individually; the individual cut-off was at 90.

Minooka was led by Rachel Herzberger’s 98. Herzberger recorded two pars on the day. Other counting scores were a 103 from Deaven Hudson, a 104 from Gabby Osorio and a 112 from Ashley Gray.

Westminster Christian Sectional

ALGONQUIN — Seneca finished in 10th place 382 strokes, in Monday’s Class 1A boys event at Golf Club of Illinois.

The cut-off to advance as a team was 348, and the highest advancing individual score was an 88.
